Meet Mark Tate
Mark Tate, a Springfield, Illinois native, has owned and operated The Luthier Shoppe since 1985, in addition to mixing sound and monitors for a large variety of artists across the musical spectrum.
His knowledge from touring with world class musicians paired with his 20+ years learning from esteemed electronic repairmen and instrument builders make his guidance and service one of a kind.

Mark received a Bachelor's of Arts in Classical Guitar from University of Illinois Champaign and learned repair and building from a variety of well-known luthiers, in addition to learning amp and electronic repair from some of the most esteemed builders and repairs in the industry.
Mark's mentor was Red Rhodes, who was the chief electronics technician of Groove Tubes. He also learned electronics from Matt Bertram of August Systems, Ken Fischer from Trainwreck and Cesar Diaz from New York City.
He continues to build and repair instruments as well as tube amplifiers to this day.
